I have a multi-faceted problem. First, I need a new exhaust system for my NA 855 GLT. Either a full stainless system with headers or starting after the header, catless preferred. I would like a system that requires minimal modification to be transplanted to an 855R. In other words, the downpipe area should be modular enough that I don't have to do any cutting or welding in order to move this system to a different car. I am not familiar with the differences between turbo and NA exhausts, but I knw there are some bungs that need to be present on a turbo and plugged on a NA car. Is there an an aftermarket solution that suits my objective, or am I going to have to work with a local custom shop?
My rationale is the following: I keep all my cars until they die horrible deaths. I am willing to trick out my 855 GLT only to the extent that those parts will be transplantable onto an 855R, which I am on the lookout for. If and when my tired GLT motor dies, I will remove my awesome brakes, suspension, gearbox, etc. and transplant them onto a proper 855R. This, to me, is a sensible long-term strategy that saves quite a bit of money. Since a stainless exhaust system is essentially a lifetime part, I want it to be useful on an 855 as well.
Any manufacturers I should start looking at?
