My three-year-old 850R clutch has begun to slip under full boost in 4th or 5th gears. It's got 40k miles on it. My first clutch went 108k, but started to slip after a day of hard use at Willow Springs. Other than that one track day, my car is a daily driver. Now, I'm pretty easy on clutches and never had to replace one in any car I've owned in over 30+ years, and I've only owned manual trans vehicles. I had thought the 850R clutches were good for over 350 whp. My car is probably at or less than 300 whp, depending on the dyno used, and how much e85 is in the tank. In any event, I'm disappointed in the short lifespan of this clutch and not happy with the idea of having to replace every 40k miles. I had always thought the 850R clutches were "problem solved" for my power level, so never really spent any time considering anything else. Are there good alternatives for my situation (daily driver) that won't break the bank?
