I have a question about a turbo rebuild, of which I cannot find a direct answer. I recently rebuilt a 16t using the Mitsubishi kit and replaced most of the components except four pieces as I was not getting it balanced. Made sure everything was properly rebuild and the wheels spun freely before installing in my car. During the install, I did let about 1 oz of oil drip into the oil feed bonjo bolt. Then I proceeded to start the car without pulling the fuel pump relay or ignition wire. Two questions:
- What is the proper break in procedure? How long should i drive before pulling WOT? Currently running a 15 psi tune.
- I think i hear a slight whine, but nothing loud at all. Can i just get another rebuild kit or is there damage to the shaft? There are no bent fins and the wheel spins freely from the housings. I tried taking a video but you cannot hear a whine since you just hear the normal boost whistle. If I did mess up on the prime, how long do I have?
