So... I have this 97 850 NA 5spd that i put together for a customer and his circumstances have changed so I now have the car...
I plan to run it in Lemons or Chumpcar with a team of friends,
I know of a couple of the European guys have done track time and would probably know stuff like this.
What are the weak points with engine for endurance racing?
I think I have heard about oiling pickup issues, Is there a later oil pan that's better? Is it ok to just add baffles to the pan?
How about the tensioners and belts... Will the hydraulic tensioner hold up? Do i need to add a secondary mechanical tensioner? I know if this thing slips a tooth the motor will be toast and if it looses oil pressure... it will be toast.
I saw the 850 BTCC cars use a wider belt, is the belt a weak point?
Am i over looking anything else that I should address to be able to run reliably?
