Inspired by both my friend's newly lifted WRX with big tires and IPD's latest XC70 build, an idea has arisen in my mind. I would like to take a P2 V70R M66 and swap in P2 XC70 shocks accompanied by 2" Bad Swede lift springs, and swap on XC70 bumpers, fender flares, and side skirts as well. A lifted, 300hp, 6 speed, AWD wagon, especially one with that 5 cylinder snarl, sounds like a blast to me!
Talk to me about cross compatibility of suspension/ AWD components as well as trim pieces between these two cars. I know I'd have to disable 4C.
I'm already thinking about a standard 2003 or newer XC70 and adding lift springs and bigger tires for my wife's next family-mobile. It would be more fun if it had more power and a manual!
