Hello everyone. Before I begin I would like to first say that I am NOT looking to replace the LED's in my car with custom ones. Instead I am more or less adding the LED lights to it.
I am currently working on a hardware project which will tie a series of LED's behind the speedometer to an arduino hardware chip and a GPS. The idea is that as the speed adjusts, which can be read using the arduino, the color of the LED will change. I also will take the speed limit of the road i'm on from the GPS, and individually light that specific speed on the speedometer. It's a pretty long term project, and before I invest I wanted to ask a few questions to the folks that know the hardware of the car. I aim to do this to my 2001 Volvo v70 2.4t. So I need to fit a series of LED's behind the speedometer inside the instrument cluster. To follow up, I also need to run a wire out of it so I can reach a power supply. and so I can add some form of manual control. But first things first, would I be able to fit LED lights behind the speedometer inside the instrument cluster?
