I am looking for a better cam to my R6 n/a engine, 2001, B6294.
Mechanical lifters.
Intake VVT (blocked, but the cam shape has to fit the VVT head).
I've found that the viva perf. sells the Enem (35-79-000) cam, but for R5 engines:
http://www.vivaperformance.com/performance-camshafts-volvo
35-79-000
Y21 (mechanical) 264/110/9.6/0.8
For dual fixed camshafts, used with newer RN cylinder head. Features additional thrust bearing on top and 34mm base circle of the RN model head. If you choose a sharper profile than the Y21, the base circle will be smaller than the standard 34 mm base circle, and there is insufficient material on the cam blank, requiring adjustment of the valve clearance with shims.
Two questions:
- these numbers (duration, lift, etc) are for R5. Is it possible to recompute it for R6 (which is the same engine, only one piston less), or it is not possible?
- from these numbers (264/110/9.6/0.8) I know the duration, apex angle, valve lift and intake valve opening. Will it be enough to give the (recomputed) numbers to my local camshaft shop so they can "replicate" the cam profile of the Enem ones, or it is necessary to know more informations?
