I want to do forged rods on my car, as i have bent a rod. I have pulled 2 of these engines, Its a bit of a pain. Is it possible to pull the oil pan, seperate the M56, and unbolt everything underneath the car, pop the rods out, do a quick bead hone, put in some new rings and rod bearings, and put the pistons back in through the bottom ? Even if i have to drop the sub frame, and use an engine support bar, it would be a lot less work in my situation if it were possible. Then i would not have to pull the head, get a new head gasket, head bolts, pull the 40 something cam bolts and all that crap. it would just be a lot easier, in theory, Can i do this ? or no?
