I'm new to volvo tuning, and I'm looking into a few things.
I will buy a volvo 940 around model 1992, this is a 2.3GL version.. don't ask me what engine because I don't know.
First I will use it to just drive and later I will put in a new engine, I want to get the B230FK because it only costs 400 euro (and yes thats cheap).
The engine has 99kw so its the LP version, I did read things like (i wrote everything down).
Chipping the ecu:
- The LPT engines (B230FK) with LH2.4 will gain 80HP and 105NM (77lb/ft) of torque

"The car has a LH2,4 injection-system which has an air-mass-sensor.
The system will provide enough fuel for the amount of air that passes the air-mass-sensor.
BUT if the turbo is too large, the system will reach the limitations of the stock injectors.
There are also some other limitations like the rev-limit.
200hp:
If you get hold of an upgraded fuel-chip, then the system will be ok with the original injectors up to 200-210hp.
The colder weather outside, the faster you'll reach the limits for the injectors....
350hp:
Next level tuned-chip (someone at this forum may help getting hold of one) could be a chip made for the 968-injectors found on the Volvo S60R, in combination with the larger 3" air-mass-sensor from Volvo 960 (3 litre) (Bosch -012-sensor I think?).
Then the system will cope with a maximum of 350hp.
I recommend this setup. It's neat and powerful!"
"Buy a tuned chip (350hp)(like the Viking-chip), mount air-mass-sensor (Bosch -012) and 968-injectors.
Then your Volvo can cope with anything from 200-350hp.
This is the best "fool-proof" setup, and "nothing" can go wrong."
"b230fk has weaker internals to the b230et. the b230et is the one you want as thats the most tunable one."
But I can't find the ET version in Holland, so that isn't going to work.
Now the harder questions come.. I read things about a 531 head, which head is this?
Now the B230FK engine is 8v turbo engine... one of my questions is, should I leave it 8v or try to find a 16v head, if 16v which one? and does it require complete block modificaton or will it be a direct fit?
I am looking into getting close to 400hp, based on "235hp and +400Nm" should give me this around 600nm of torque?
By doing this, do I need to upgrade the rear diff to something better? I won't be racing the car.. it will be my daily driver with so now and then a bit of sliding/drifing (make it 4x / year).
At my old car (honda) I need to upgrade the intake manifold for higher performance, does volvo also require this? and which onces can i get.

Is there anything better? this cam was for 8v version.
Maybe I have some other questions but that is it for now.
