Ok,
I pulled the car into the garage about a week ago after having backed it out to use my gym..
Turned the car over just fine, but at idle it was surging like i was tapping the gas peddle but was not touching it...
Wife drove to work next day but it stalled out and died by the side of the road about a half mile away, but I was able to get it started and drive it home later, engine was surging.
here is what I have done to it thus far to try to correct it, I live in a small town and no one will work on it here.
Cleaned the throttle body assembly
Replaced the plugs, rotor and cap
Cleaned the mass air flow sensor
Cleaned the Idle air control sensor
Replaced the Throttle body sensor
new air filter
Here is what it does now......
OK,
After all of this you can start it and it will rise the idle then drop down to just below 1000 rpm and it sounds fantastic
You can press the gas pedal and it will drop out for a splitsecond and then rev .... If you leave it to idle it will just purr away, but after about 5-10 minutes will just stall out
OR, if you press the gas a few times it will start to idle very rough and almost stall and start surging again like you are pressing the pedal.....
I am trying to work from cheapest fix to most expensive and running out of ideas, it does sound better and idle great unless above ..
AM I missing anything?
also used Seafoam on it and it seemed to clean lots of junk out , changing the oil and filter tomorrow .........
Thank you for the help,
Chris
