I did this about a month ago, just realized I should post it up and start contributing instead of just asking questions every other week. Previous previous owner his a curb, damaging a wheel, the oil pan and the subframe. They repaired the oil pan (woo new seals!) but left the wheel and subframe as is. The wheel is only slightly bent, and on the to do list. But the subframe was first up after all the usual maintenance repairs.
New subframe from ebay
All cleaned up
Pressing in the Delrin bushings with some bolts and bits I bought at the hardware store
My dog is psyched with the new ipd sway bars
I usually use my car port as a living room, hence the couches
Hanging the engine with a harbor freight beam (for sale or rent if anyone near LA needs it, ha)
Old vs new
On the car
I had previously replaced all of my suspension, so the only thing new about this install/swap was hanging the engine (a little hard to find information on where to loop the chains) and unbolting the steering rack, which was easy. Hardest part was just the logistics of supporting the car and lowering the subframe, then raising it again, but overall it wasn't that bad. I read a lot that the delrin bushings would rattle my teeth out, but I drive this car through the city for an hour or two every day and I don't notice any increased vibrations. Thanks for all the help and info.
