Seat Repair

So I recently picked up a 97 850r. In the process of getting it to stage 0 mechanically. The interior could use some work, and I was planning on leaving it, but after seeing leather magic either here or on volvoforums, I'm thinking about giving the interior an overhaul as well.

Plan is to steamclean carpets and roofliner, clean and paint all the light grey bits that are getting discolored, and then leathermagic the seats.

Problem is the suede inserts.. first, on the 850r, is it suede, alcantara, or microfiber? The rear seats actually look pretty good. The drivers has some wear but nothing major.. the passenger seat looks bad, really clumpy, and spots missing - like a silver dollar sized spot that there is no suede left.

Are there any DIY solutions for repairing that look decent? I've heard of sanding or trimming for the long clumped fibers, but what about where its missing? Both front seats are peppered with tiny spots missing the suede.

Last question, the strips of leather in between the suede sections are cracked, will leather magic fix those, and will it ruin the suede if it gets on it?
