B5254S Mild Build

My '98 Volvo V70 5 speed base wagon's engine is getting a bit tired at 280,000 miles.

I don't want to junk it, though, because I've grown attached to it.  It's relatively light and would be fun with a bit more horsepower, a lighter flywheel and some coilovers!

I'd rather rebuild it than swap a turbo motor in there.  Budget is around 3k.

I would like to port & polish the head, manifolds and throttle body, or maybe even swap the head out with a better one.  Also, are there aftermarket camshafts for my engine out there?  I want some more overlap but stage 1 at most...I'd be doubtful with a stage 2 cam because this is the car I will rely on every day.

As far as internals go, I'm sure the stock internals could handle the 170-180 WHP that I want, but if it is feasible to increase performance then I'd look into it.

Would it be feasible to balance and blueprint the engine if I don't upgrade any internals? For that matter, would it also be feasible to change my fuel map when im finished even though im normally aspirated?

I'm not sure what cc's the stock injectors are, but I'm sure they could handle the build.  If I test them and they're less than perfect, would anyone have good recommendations for new ones?

I'd also like to swap out the clutch and flywheel.  I'd like the flywheel at most to be 15 lbs, but I'm not sure whether to machine my existing wheel down to that weight or just to buy an aftermarket one.  Any recommendations for clutch?
