Using Hydraulic Lifters With Solid Lifter Cam

I have a B5234T8 engine, its an early RN with hydraulic lifters. I am wanting to use an exhaust cam from a NA like Johann did on the B5244T5 but Im sure the engine it comes from has solid lifters. Is it possible to use a solid lifter cam with hydraulic lifter?

Also helped a friend exchange the two VVT cams on a B5244T5 for two fixed cams.
