Hi all,
I have a 2004 XC 70 AWD. Recently, the panel / narrow strip that runs vertically along the left side of the windshield (as you're looking at the car), from the hood to the roof rack, has come partially detached. It seems that at least one of the clips (see pictures) is broken, and the panel clips don't retain the piece. I've tried removing the panel strip entirely, but have noticed a few things: first, indeed, one of the clips is broken. Second, it's very tough to fit the entire strip in; the slots that it fits into near the hood (lower) and roof rack (upper) are tight, and don't seem to receive the entire piece.

I'd love to fix this, but have to wonder & would really appreciate the help:
- First, what's this thing called? I'm not sure how to fix it because, in part, I don't even know what it's called!
- Second, is there a good way to fit the entire piece into the slots near the roof rack and hood? Maybe a trick other than brute force?
- Third, is there a way to order the clips and/or the piece again, or a better way to proceed with the DIY repair?
Thanks for any insights you can give here - I don't want to lose it on the highway, but can't seem to get the thing to stay in place. Again - huge thanks!
Cheers,
