Hi guys. I've been wanting to upgrade the stereo from the stock one currently in my 1999 S70, so with relatively little knowledge I went ahead and bought a Pioneer FH-X700BT, a double DIN head unit.
Now, having done a bit of googling, I've discovered that it may not be a simple installation. As far as I can tell, there isn't a kit I can buy that will let the HU fit because the double DIN size won't fit, due to guide rails on the side of the cavity. Can someone confirm this for me? Have I bought entirely the wrong type of stereo?
A second concern I have is for the installation itself. I've never done one before, but I'm not interested in paying my local car shop $100 to do it for me, so I'm happy to learn. My main question is do I need any extra parts aside from the HU itself? I've read a bit about harnesses but I'm a bit in the dark about what they're for or which one I need to buy. If someone could point me in the right direction on that front it'd be much appreciated.
Thanks!
